1025r Manual Diverter for Snow Plow

So my first post here so a little about what I have... moved up from a X738 to a 1025r beginning of the year and haven't looked back. Got a lot of valuable info from here so I thought I would share some. I bought my tractor used, 1 1/2 years old with 89 hours. It's a TLB with a 54" mower deck, turf tires and the separate mower lift option. I do take the loader off a lot for mowing so I got a single point connector which is a blessing for an old guy like me. I just converted a plow for snow since I really like it better than using the bucket, I had a Terramite backhoe so I've used both. I was going to get a diverter from Summit but after thinking about it wanted something simpler. If I were going to use a grapple or anything that would have me going back and forth between the bucket function and 3rd function a lot it makes perfect sense but I won't... just want to use a snow plow. I see only one place that may have a kit for a manual diverter but it's as much as a Summit electric kit. Well having some time to kill, I'm retired, I came up with my own and thought I would share it. The whole thing was about $300 but does require a little fabricating to make a mount. No hole drilling on the tractor and I can pop the thing off in about 30 minutes if I ever wanted to for any reason. Attached are a few pictures of it, I'll post the plow later after I get it painted and back in one piece. Parts list is posted too.

**EDIT 10/27/22 - I have found the 24" hoses from the valve to the single point connector pull more than I like when removing the loader so I am replacing them with 36" hoses and looping them. I'll post a pic when complete.

**EDIT 10/29/22 - Okay I've added new pics using the 36" Hoses from the Single Point handle to the diverter valve and I updated the materials list from Surplus Center.

Please provide a little more detail about how this is plumbed and how it works. Does it use the curl function of the FEL to run the manual diverter and that change takes place when you close the manual valve?

By the way, welcome to posting on GTT and well done with your first post............Looking forward to more details as I would imagine there are going to be several members interested in what you have done, which makes sense for a seasonal use such as the snow plow. Basically when you install the plow and close the valve, the plow angle is powered by the previous curl function of the FEL, is that correct?

Also, what can you tell us and show us about the plow, as far as the mount style, source of the plow you are using, its size and the way you equipped the plow with shoes, plow edges and any other features such as plow top flap, etc.

In what area of the country do you reside?

Thanks for posting.

I'm in Ct.so winter here is hit or miss. I do have a fair amount of snow to clear though when it does come down plus several neighbors. For the plow I'll post that in a different thread when I get it done, should be in a week or so but for this write up just think Frontier plow, functionally it's the same thing.

As for more detail on the diverter (taking big breath)...

I wanted to keep everything on the loader when disconnecting so I intercepted the curl function on the FEL where it comes out of the single connect. When the diverter valve is in it functions normal and when pulled out the left/right motion of the loader joystick is diverted to the front connectors. The valve is pretty simple, as shown in the pictures the side closest to the tractor go to the curl function on the FEL, they are actually the hoses I disconnected from the single point handle. The center hoses go to the single point handle where I removed the hoses and the outer hoses run to the front connectors. If you have a single point you need to mount the valve low so that it doesn't hit the handle. I used the holder bracket that came with the single point and modified it. I also made the mount so I could position the valve where I wanted as shown in the pictures. When removing the FEL frame rocks forward and there is plenty of clearance.

Links to parts...

Connectors are from Summit but I bought them on Amazon... (Free shipping)

Valve is from Northern Tool but I grabbed it on Amazon because I was already there...

The connectors and hoses are from Supply Center.

Only thing I may have done different is the 24" hoses could be 30" instead...

That's precisely what I recommended for another guy in the other post. $300 vs $1300. When plowing leave it in the angle mode and switch to curl mode if it sags. Otherwise leave it in curl mode. Easy Peasy.

OP,
Normally the bucket level rod is moved to the other side of the loader specifically to keep it from rubbing through fittings and hoses. You might want to do that before you find out the hard way why it's done.
