Unfortunately it’s a very common thing. Sad but these tractors should come with a bottle of lock-tight. Just because they put a marker to the bolt head doesn’t mean the torque gun was up to snuff or set correctly. And according to my tractor they don’t recertify.

About 6 years ago, I bought a new Mustang GT. When I got under it to do the first oil change, I found the lower bolt holding in the starter was hanging on by just a couple of threads. Lucky I caught it and lucky you caught yours as well. Now to get my brand new tractor up on ramps and take a peek.

You would think that being made by JD in the USA, they would assemble them properly with care and attention to detail?

Pride in one's work seems to be an ever diminishing resource in this country. It's sad.
