I was looking at the factory ag hitch provided on the 1025Rs and thought it seemed as though you could fit a generic receiver hitch to the underside of that plate, between the two brackets that it attaches to. After message back and forth with a northern tool rep it seems as though this little gem might fit the bill.

Ultra-Tow Step Bumper Receiver – Class II, 3,500-Lb. GTW, 2in. | Custom Fit| Northern Tool + Equipment

Here are the dimensions the rep gave me:

Mounting Plate: 7-1/4" W, 5" D, 3" H .. not sure if this would limit ground clearance, I assume the front end is probably more limiting.
Bolt Pattern: 5-1/2" C2C-W, 3" C2C-D

I slid around outside trying to measure my ag hitch plate and got 7-1/2"W and looked like there should be plenty of depth. That said I will probably offset the receiver hitch back a bit so the outer most ag hitch hole is still usable.

It would be 7 1/4 inches side to side and 5 inches front to back and 3 inches high. The mounting holes are 4 inches center to center on one set and the other set is 5 1/2 inches center to center.

The benefit of what I am proposing is that it leaves the ag hitch available for pulling an ag trailer.. without having to tie up a ball less drop hitch. Though if you're like me, you probably have multiple that you bought, lost, and found after having bought a replacement.

I'm not sure if the Northern tools hitch would fit your tractor. I would go with the JD hitch or Heavy Hitch.
If you are handy and can weld, cut and grind. Then make your own.
I got the heavy Hitch receiver. Well made, great powder coat and bolts on. It was worth the money for me.
I also have a weight bracket front and rear from Heavy Hitch.

Can someone post a link or picture of this "JD option"?
If JD offers one, that "wasn't much more" than the NT offering then why are two aftermarket companies making one that's costs considerably more :unknown:

Maybe he's thinking of the ag hitch plate?

Here's a pic of one I made for my 1025. Made a new hitch plate so I still have the original. I can't imagine some one wanting to mount the 2" receiver under the plate, it would be extremely difficult to install the hitch pin in the receiver, unless you layed on the ground. I preferred my above the hitch plate, it still alows plenty of room for using the PTO, as I use mine quite often. It also makes it much easier to hook up ag equipment. I use a drop hitch with the drop up , you don't have to bend over so far.

Here is what I use. I can hook pretty much anything to it and don't have to lift anything to hook up. 100_0727.jpg Couple pins and it's off, same going back on. Add as many balls to it you want of different sizes and leave a hole to put a pin type hitch on.

That's a nice bar. I see it has a piece of C channel so it doesn't spin.

Yep, works great. I bought it off eBay. Probably should have bought 2 but 1 works. :thumbup1gif:

I have the Heavy Hitch receiver plate on my TLB, and it does not interfere with the backhoe at all. Hitch tongues do need to be removed though. So, I drilled new holes in a D-Ring tongue which put the ring right up at the tube. Now, I can leave the D-Ring on and have the backhoe!

Do you think there is a big enough difference between the heavy hitch and the OMNI hitch to cause a problem?? the mounting plate looks to be longer than the heavy hitch plate?

I do not know what the difference in the dimensions are between the two. I also can not get to my backhoe right now (buried in 20" snow) to measure the clearance. But, if I remember correctly, it is somewhere around a couple of inches for the Heavy Hitch.

I have the Omni hitch. I have not had any problem with it. No problem hooking up the PTO & it handles heavy loads fine.

This is what I just purchased for my 1025r. Not needing super heavy duty specs and it just has one 3/4" bolt. I gave all of about $10.00 and got a free voltmeter to boot. ATV Hitch Adapter

With your Omni in place, you can still use the PTO as well as the 3 point hitch itself? I'm just trying to find out if there's any downside to leaving it there permanently.
