Anybody have the specs for the 3 point hitch on the 1026R? I'm looking at a used rake tomorrow and want to be sure it fits. I'm thinking it's 26" wide ID on the bottom and 15" from the bottom cross line to the top. The John Deere site calls the 1026 hitch a "limited" Cat 1 which always make me wonder what that means. Thanks.

Only means that it can't lift as high as a full Cat 1 hitch, the dimensions of the hitch itself, are still exactly the same. If you are looking at a Cat 1 rake, it will fit your 1026r.

I thought "limited" also meant that the max weight the 3PT can handle is less than a full Cat 1. I don't recall the weight, but it's in the owners' manual. That shouldn't affect you if you're looking at a rake.

Thanks for the quick replies. Sounds like any CAT 1 will be compatible. :yahoo:

Right from the deer's mouth...

"The limited Category 1, 3-point hitch is standard for quick hookup of 3-point hitch implements. Industry-standard link and connecting point specifications for Category 1 hitches are met, allowing implements to easily connect to the tractor. However, the low profile of the 1023E and 1026R may prevent the hitch from lifting some implements to the minimum height prescribed by the Category 1 standard. Thus, the word limited is added to the description."

There is no weight specification for CAT1,2, or 3. It only refers to the pin spacing.

So CAT 1, 2, 3 is for pin spacing, "limited" is for height, then I guess that the specific tractor size/weight/spec determines the max implement weight it can handle?

Just learning too.

Yes sir, that is correct. The max weight is determined by the machine.

On some older Kubota's, limited also meant the width the lower arms could spread apart.

I need to add that the CAT 1,2,or 3 also determines the pin size in addition to the spacing.
