Hi folks,
Wondering if anyone has the material collection system and if they could post some pictures. I have to remove the iMatch to put the bagger system on, which could be an issue.

And if I use the mulch kit instead for the 60D deck, I would only need this MCS mostly for the Fall leaf collecting.

Not sure which way to go. Any suggestions?

I have the bagger system on my 1026r bought new in June 2012. It works fine, vacuums the lawn spotless, my chief complaint is the limited volume. I mow ~ 2 acres and it fills up fast. I am considering getting the Protero PV18 system. I would consider selling for $200 less than full retail, that's just the bagger and hitch assembly, not the powerflow or the chute.

I would consider that, what price and where are you located? I am just west of Hartford.

That looks nice. I should really get one for fall clean up.

How long does it take to put it on ?

I dont see the lower 3pt arms. Do they have to come off ? Would it work with a quick hitch?

I just put a power flow on the 60d 7 Iron deck on my 2305. Also have the MCS that I transferred over from my 2720 . Works great! That 60D power flow is a beast compared with the others I've used (54C & 62D). Much heavier, beefier and larger fan assembly. It really sucks!! I can tell the difference by the way it packs the bags.

Leo, I live in Lancaster, MA.....20 min. north of Worcester. I have an inquiry into Protero RE: how long it will take to rec. a PV18. I'll let you know when I hear back from them. I think I paid $1500 for the unit.

Eric, It hangs off just the top center arm of the 3 point hitch and will not work with the iMatch. The lower arms are not used. There are 2 30mm bolts that hold the bagger assembly on at the bottom. You can see it pretty clearly in the last photo. It's not hard to attach or detach just a little bulky. I can do it myself.

Thanks for the info, The pricing you gave me probably included the chute as well. I think it would be easier if I just ordered from my dealer.

Question, I have a tow behind DR that I bought last year prior to the 1026. Is there a collection boot that will fit the JD that is not the power drive system. I just need something that will fit the discharge chte to connect to the DR hose. Any thoughts?

I have the MCS for my 1026R as well. While it is not difficult to put on and take off (2 bolts attach the vertical support bracket to a hitch plate underneath the PTO), I still find it annoying to remove weekly, especially when compared to how easy it is to remove the mower, backhoe, loader and front bucket. I find it amusing that it takes longer to put on the least complex component on my tractor (a simple bracket for the bagger) than the mower/backhoe/loader. It takes about 10 minutes to install, and is much easier with a 2nd hand when installing the actual bagger housing since it is large and you cannot see where you are going when trying to mount it onto the vertical support bracket.

I have decided I am going to modify the vertical support bracket so that instead of using the 2 bolts to attach to the hitchplate, I will do one of the following:

1) Modify the bracket to use a 2" receive hitch with a PIN, replacing the hitchplate with the Omni receiver hitch: John Deere 1 Series Fixed Draw Bar Extension - OMNI Mfg LLC. I am absolutely convinced that this method is what JD should be using OEM. They would add value by having a 2" receiver hitch for towing, and have a super easy way to add the brackets for the bagger and a number of other potential accessories.

2) Modify the bracket to use a 2" receiver hitch just below the fork in the upper support arms, and use the 2" vertical receiver in the Omni Transformer. This will allow me to leave the 3pt arms & quick hitch installed. However, I have not yet verified the dimensions to ensure the chute will be able to reach the bagger.

Thanks for the reply. If you get the PV18 please let us know how it works.

What are the advantages of the Protero PV18? Looks like a nice, well built commercial quality unit but the capacity appears to about the same as the MCS. I agree with the comments about the MCS not being as convenient to attach / detach compared to the loader, deck, power flow, quicktach system but it is a well engineered and durable unit.

I won't gain much in capacity but emptying it will be a little faster and a whole lot easier. The 3 bagger system works great, don't get me wrong. I had a JRCo trailer on my old 265 so I'm a little spoiled that's all.

The Protero can be used with the iMatch which is nice but it's quite a bit more expensive over JD's MCS.

Leo, I'm not for sure on whether I need the JD chute or if I would use the flexible hose the whole way. I wasn't sure exactly what I paid, I'll have to dig it out of the file but my offer still stands for you and anyone else....$200 less than what I paid. It's like brand new.

10-4. Looks good. I can see the advantages of emptying the system and like the iMatch compatibility. Can you retain the JD Powerflow or do you have to use Protero's unit?

Would you consider another JRCo. trailer? It looks like it's got a huge capacity advantage. Let me know if you eventually get the Protero. I'd love to see it and you're fairly local.

Thanks, Frank

I would definitely consider it but JRCo doesn't make them anymore. Kicking myself for selling the old one. I'm miffed there's not more options out there other than Protero.
I'm not sure you gain much of an advantage with the iMatch capability. The Protero is mighty bulky and awkward. Maybe more so than my current bagger, even with the iMatch. I believe you still have to manually pick it up and hang it on the iMatch. I would consider building a dolly for the Protero.
You are cordially invited to come see it if and when I get one, most def. Stay tuned.

EDIT: THIS JUST IN FROM PROTERO. It's $1799 if you use your own powerflow and chute, $2699 for the whole shebang. Those are delivered prices, they are currently running a free shipping special. Downside is they require full payment up front and about a "2 week" lead time for delivery. DE Dirt reported it took him 42 days to receive his so I dunno.

I'd rather not have to take the 3pt off the tractor as I use it often. If I didnt I would have bought a x749. Not sure what deere is thinking With the bagger for the 1026 not working with the 3pt/ imatch.

Good point Eric. I don't use my 3 pt. hitch much. I usually have my backhoe mounted if not the 3 bagger.

I would count on the 40 day order to delivery time. I was in communication with Bob at Protero the entire time and it was delay after delay. The MCS has been working flawlessly and the amount of clippings that container holds is immense. As far as dropping it from the 3pt., I have a crate in the back yard where I can drop it in a minute however, I am building a drop-off stand out of pressure treated 2X4 to hold it aloft. Pricey unit but the damn thing is awesome. Solid construction at all points.

I remember you saying it was 42 days to rec. yours, DE Dirt. Did they tell you it was only going to be 2 weeks initially? What galls me is they want full payment up front.
