1026r mower deck

I just got my new 1026r. Since the mower deck is brand new---yet to be used----what if anything, would be the best thing to coat/spray on the underside of the deck to help it stay cleaner? Thanks!

This is a long debated topic. And from what I have been able to conclude is that there is no good answer to this issue. So, when you discover one let us in on the secret. :mocking:
I will be in the same boat as you next week when my 1026R arrives. I am thinking this weekend will be the last mow and leaf clean-up. I am not sure I want to mow with the brand new deck just one time to "try it out", might as well wait until spring. I also have the JD 185 if I need to mow any more here or there. I will probably just put a coat of wax on the new 7Iron and put it to rest in the barn for the winter. I agree with Randy, and I haven't seen or heard of one great solution. Some like Fluid Film, and I do too for other uses, but it seems to me that it would end up a gooey mess under the deck. Let us know if you find something that works. :good2:

Hey CP, just a thought, you may want to try out that new deck. At the very least mount and make sure all is in working order. You wouldn't necessarily need to get it all dirty. That way you will be assured there won't be any little issues to arrise next spring. You know, make sure you have all the right parts and set-ups. Much easier to discuss with the dealer earlier than later. Just a thought.
Great point Randy, and I agree. I am really thinking that they will deliver it with the deck on, but that is definitely something I should check on. Thanks!
60" mmm removing issues

Does anyone have ideas as to what I need to do to make removing deck easier after several weeks not removing. The deck latch seems to stick closed and I have hard time open or unlatch to remove deck.

I leave mine on for weeks at a time and haven't ever had a problem removing it. Maybe some WD40 or the like on the hinges? :unknown:

I have just tried that and it seems I only have a problem if I have not disconnected in awhile. I built a level deck to keep my mower off the ground when not in use, since I can't store inside as yet.
