The other day I was scrolling through Craigslist and came across a 52" 4 way snow blade that came off a 70's 140-H3. Well after explaining the importance of a Brass Tag to my wife we were in full agreement that we needed it to go along with the Brass Tag 80 cart we have for our 140-H3. I was able to pick it up today and it fit perfectly. The gang thing even lifted the front end of the tractor and it has a float position. I'm more than pleased.

You need to be very proud of that 140.

Nice addition, but one thing has me confused, brass tags just means it was made in 1968, or prior. The 140 and that blade started in 68, so it is just 68 that have them. 69 to sometime in the 80’s used aluminum tags. The only reason for the switch was brass price increases due to Vietnam.

A brass tag blade should be yellow and green, not yellow and black. That color changed in 1970 when engine color also changed.

Yes, thanks for the info. I had no idea of the color change. I don't know when he purchased it. Very well could be late 60's. He and his grandson restored it last year. Probably he just look at some 70's photos and assumed he had the right color scheme. I know I'll never part with it so I may leave it yellow and black. I think it really accents a 70's 140.
