1585 Terraincut 62" and 72" Fastback decks

I have two if the 1585 Front mowers (awesome mowers). One has the 62" Fastback Commercial deck (rear discharge) model 62RD. Other has the 72" Fastback Commercial 72" deck.

I have the owners manual for the machines (1585) but don't have any manuals for the decks, and have not been able to find manuals online for the decks.

I threw a belt on the 62" today. It also came off the main drive pulley, and cannot be put back on because the space between the pulley and the brackets that hold the main gearbox is too narrow. So it appears I'm going to have to disassemble the gearbox from the deck to get the belt back on. Before I go ripping into it too far, thought I'd ask:
1. Does anyone know where I can find a manual for the decks (can't ask a dealer until at least Tuesday given the holiday weekend)?
2. Does anyone have experience replacing the bels on this, and any advice for what I need to disassemble to reinstall the belt?
Many thanks for your help.

I replaced the belt on my 60" 7-Iron FM deck a few weeks ago. I removed deck and set on 4x4 cribbing. Removed driveshaft from gearbox via QD pto coupling. 4 bolts to remove gearbox. Loosen idler tension pulley spring nut, pivot nut, and remove slider track nut. Replace belt. While loose, i greased the tension idler pivot and slide track. Reinstall gearbox, tighten tension idler pulley ensuring it is free to move, and set belt tension via spring.

I notice both idler pulley nuts were tightened, cinching the bracket down to the deck. Are they supposed to be loose?

Thx
PS - any idea where to find a manual on the decks?

Maybe I'm wrong, but i leave mine so that the spring can move the idler and provide tension. Maybe it is supposed to be secured after the spring provides the tension, but that seems more expensive than a simple jack screw. I need to check my manual again.

The manual for my 72" rear discharge says to tighten both nuts on the tensioner bracket after adjusting.

I found operator's manuals for my 1570 and 72" Fastback here:

Search for Equipment Publications - Technical Information Store (deere.com)

There is also an option to purchase.

Thank you! I found the manual for the 62" Fastback, which was exactly what I needed.

I wasn't able to find the 72" Fastback deck manual for my other mower. Maybe I'm not using the correct search terms?

Thanks again.

I read the same thing. It appears the spring is simply used (by reaching a certain stretch length) to set the belt tension. Once it's set, the bolts are tightened to lock it in at that tension.

Also, the belt tension is supposed to be rechecked after 10 hours, and then every 100 hours thereafter.

Guess i need to tighten mine down.

The search function is not very intuitive. Maybe one of these will match your 72" deck:

I replaced the belt on mine toward the end of the season last year. Was not able to get the adjustment rod/spring back on. Been running without it this summer with the hope it stretches a little over time so I can get it back on.
