Just a reminder to keep an eye out for fuel leaks and debris. Having the fuel injectors right above the exhaust manifold is not good! Took me about 15 minutes to put it out.

I always do a "walk around" before starting check fluid levels, tires, etc., etc.. Maybe I'll add a start and do another "walk around" looking for leaks while running!

Glad you caught be fore more was damaged than paint! Bob

The problem is not where the injectors are located.
Many Diesel engines are designed and built this way.
The problem here is a lack of regular maintenance.
Repairing leaks and cleaning equipment is part of the maintenance process.

I believe I will, too! Ordered $150 in parts. Didn’t mind the radiator hose since it actually burst and started spraying in the fire!

Agree and disagree. Wish the hood came off easier for an inspection

The hood isn't real difficult to remove. Just a bolt to R&R at rear on each side & nuts on each side by radiator. Of course FEL obstructs access but one can raise boom out of the way. If boom is raised zip tie a piece of angle iron on cyl rod as a safety lock.
