I took the seat off so I could give it a good bath.


Here's a couple before pics from when I brought it home.


After a good coat of rubbing compound, I went back over it with some carnuba wax. I even painted the integral hitch. Everything works on this tractor, even the lights. (I have no way to test the PTO)

The pto is manually engaged. When you move the lever on the dash to turn it on it pushes the pto pulley against the crankshaft pulley. There is a friction pad between the two, like a brake shoe and drum. With the engine OFF, engage the pto lever. Try to turn the outside pto pulley. If it is engaged properly it will be tight with the engine pulley. Turn off the pto and the pulley should be free to turn.
That’s a nice looking 112. I have a ‘71 hydraulic lift with a tiller. It’s my favorite garden tractor, great styling and simple to work on.

There is a pto brake, it probably won’t spin in either position without the engine running.

With it running it should spin when engaged and stop when released
