Hello all, I have been having a problem with my tractor staying running.
currently it starts right up runs about a second and dies this can be done over and over no change in symptoms. I have somewhat sourced the problem being the fuel shut off solenoid will not stay pulled in. I have tried to follow the wiring as per the manual and have lost the holding power at the “thermo start controller”. I have the power coming to there and not seeming to come out. I have made a jumper from power to solenoid with controller out that keeps it running after start up regardless of key position I have to pull jumper to stop. I am curious as to which other possible safeties or such that use this as a cutoff? The wiring is seeming to be in good condition and all still wrapped so it’s hard to find all junctions.
Any info would be greatly appreciated I have tried replacing that controller which I had originally thought to be my issue no change.

I've not seen those thermisters in a 855/955.

As to safety's

2 under the seat.....one is a switch which I believe is for pto the other is a rod with a plastic screw on tip that sort of locks the go pedals when not in the seat.

Do you have the manual?

There are several different wiring diagrams in the manual.
Yours should be a late model 855....most similar to the 955.
Manual covers 6 models and is not super clear on what is what in many areas.

That is correct
There are only 2 small"brain" type box's on these tractors.
1 is something to do with the glow plugs. I forget what the other one does.
Might check the fuse area for a loose connection or the nut on top of starter where everything is powered from.

Ya I seem to have power at that brain on the firewall for the thermo controller and can get it to stay running if I jump across that. I have order a new one and replaced it thinking the problem was within that but no change. I can double check starter but I have power there and it does pull in the solenoid it just doesn’t hold after it’s don’t starting. Any other ideas would be a great help thanks.

This might be way off in left field...I know nothing about the 855..

But in your original post it sure sounds like the V4 diode problem that plages the 2305/2320/2520 tractors and possibly others.

This video shows the symptoms of the bad diode and the fix. Maybe check your schematic to see if any of these diodes exist on your tractor.
