Just noticed when pulling out yesterday there was a leak under the tractor. Looks like it coming out of this shaft.
This is right under the engine looks like a shaft going back the rear with a plastic cover over shaft.

Is this a easy fix maybe replacing the gasket? Pictures are showing up side ways.

I would think that would be your 4WD shaft.

If i remove the two bolts there, and slide the plastic cover back, will I see a sealed bearing there around the shaft? Or will all the oil in there pour out?

That's just a cover. I think the shaft just passes through that opening though. Your safe taking that cover off and having a look. Look at the other side of that plate too.

I just looked under my 4720. Mine is oily too! Not enough to form a puddle yet. I think it is engine oil in my case, so you may want to check out the pan gasket.
