I took off the fuel line at the fuel tank and got just a few drops of diesel. I unscrewed the part that went into the tank and when I removed it there was a 5 inch long plastic micro-screen filter full of algae. I had just purchased the used tractor and I'm guessing this filter had never been changed. Put in new filter and it starts right up. I hope this helps.

Another issue to keep an eye out for (we have a 14 5065E)- dry rotted/cracked fuel lines, running from that screen to the lift pump. I had to replace all of ours, and it is a common issue.

If you have algae in the tank you need to treat it with an algaecide. If you have it in the tank you could have it throughout the fuel system.

Drain that tank also - it has water in it. Algae only grows in water.
