I am trying to remove the left headlight assembly on my 1023E but can not get it out.

I have completely pulled the two inboard adjusting screws out and taken the nuts off the outboard screws but can not get the assemble to come out.

Before I break something I thought I would ask the forum.

Attached is pic of outboard nuts, which are now removed. But I cant figure out how the assembly comes out of the slots.

Slide the headlight unit towards the middle of the tractor to release it from behind the slots.

Here is a video about battery installation. Unfortunately the headlight was already removed when the video started, but at around minute 7, he shows the re-installation of the headlight, which might help.

On the 2017 1025r, when I removed the headlight to replace the battery, I unscrewed the entire threaded post from the plastic housing and left the nut on it. Here is link to the thread.

Thanks all.

Just got it out and now I can see how it is put together. I'm in a chair and because battery in dead I couldn't raise loader to get close enough to see what was happening, but my great wife kept wiggling and it finally broke loose, must have had a lot of dirt in the channel.

But now that I see how it is put together and have cleaned up everything it slips in. The metal frame is kind of deceiving if you have not done it before, but appears to be no need to unscrew the outboard nuts.

Battery is out and waiting on new one.

Again thanks for quick assist.

After reading your post, I did the same. I happen to read that post just as my battery died. It was a home run spinning them out and off and out of the way. Dropped the new one in and buttoned it up. Want to also add that my battery vent hose was missing so straightened that out to. After cleaning the posts, put penetrox on both. Not even a hint of corrosion. We use to use that on CU copper to AL aluminum splices on utility feeders to user service feeders when I was an electrician. its like a conductive grease. It has so many other uses too.

The technical manual's only contribution is "remove the headlight." You'd think in the 2,000 or so pages someone would have described it with some detail.
That's interesting. I when I look at the parts diagram I don't see the steel frame around the light.

I was just wondering if I should put the springs on each appropriate screw and tighten down snug. That's what it looks like the factory did with the right light.

Anyway i will install the light tomorrow.
