Finally got my 206B yesterday after waiting for 2 month since placing order. Bucket was missing from the pallet, but the dealer ordered another one.

First step was to remove wheels, seat and right fender:

First component to install was the Power Beyond kit:

790708

Next up were the brackets:

790709

Left side done:

790710

Right side done:

790711

9.5 GMP pump compared to stock:

790712

Pump gasket is in good shape (as it should be since the tractor only has 10 hours on it):

790713

Next up was removing the stock proportioning valve and remove the guts from it and cap most of the outlets. Removing the mechanical lift arm made it a lot easier to get to.

790714

Next it was time to loosely fit the new proportioning valve:

Next up was drilling and tapping the holes for the valve:

Completing the tubing to the new pump:

790717

Time to mount the 260B!

790718

But alas, I mounted the lower hose support loop on the wrong side of the ROPS:

790719

So I had to remove the BH bracket on the right side in order to remove the bolt and then install the loop on the other side of the ROPS:

This was around midnight last night, so I called it quits. Will try reconnecting the BH again tomorrow.

Overall about a 4 hour job from beginning to end.

The only 2 things that I found tricky was removing the pin on the inside of the brake arm on the rear axle and properly routing the wires inside the right fender to make it go on all the way. Also, the seat was a LOT heavier than I thought!

Backhoe hitched on just fine now without any hose issues.

Now I'll just have to patiently wait until the buckets get here, either the regular 12" from the dealer, or the 6" trenching bucket and thumb from BXpanded that I ordered back on 4/14. Last time I reached out to them, they said the order is anticipated to ship this week.

That 9.5 GMP pump and new proportional valve are amazing. At idle all functions are much faster than before, let alone at WOT. There is quite a bit of noise coming from the control valves on the backhoe due to the increased flow rate, but that might just be because they haven't been "worked" yet. Not a bad noise, just something I didn't notice before. Could also be due to the Power Beyond kit that wasn't installed before either.

Does the new proportioning valve not fit in the same location as the old one?

That was one of the original plans, but the existing flow divider is integrated into the transaxle. Even though it bolts on to the transaxle, it has a machined mating surface with o-ring seals to connect. When you actuate the PTO electrically from the dash, a solenoid opens to allow a small amount of flow from the flow divider (PTO Manifold as it's called in the literature) to engage the PTO clutch. That made it technically difficult and cost prohibitive to replace the existing flow divider, so I found a spot just inside the left tire that is out of the way and gives good access to the pump and circuits.

So I have the valve adjusted maybe a little less than 1/4 turn out. Steering is a little firmer than before, but not by much. If I bring it out a little more to make it match what I had before, does that mean I take away a little flow from the rest of the system (i.e. FEL and Backhoe)?

That's my understanding.

That's right. It's a zero sum game on the flow, so when you add to the steering, you rob from the implements. For me, I run right at 1/4 turn out which is about 1.5 GPMs. Another 1/16th to an 1/8th turn out gets you pretty close to 2 which would be between 7 and 7.5 GPMs to the implements. The only thing I have used where I feel like I might want just a little more is a 25 ton log splitter. Honestly, it was fast enough, but I'm a little greedy with speed :) The backhoe and loader are plenty fast with that setting IMHO.

Also, there is no harm in adjusting for the job you're working on for the moment.
  • If you're mowing and want to steer with your pinky, go ahead and send more through the steering circuit.
  • If you're doing some tight work with forks, you will still want more flow than stock, but maybe less than you have. (typically I would adjust this with throttle, but it's possible on the valve as well)
  • If you need to finish up digging a hole and a tornado is coming...go ahead and crank it down so you get the full 9.5 to the backhoe if it's only for a few minutes...ok, I'm just making things up now, but it's possible :)
Made me think of this guy...

I might be late to the party, but where do I get a 9.5 gpm pump and proportioning valve? Thanks in advance.

Turns out I'm missing not only the bucket, but also all these parts:

790827

The item 8 brackets looks to be pretty important:

790828

My guess is there was a bag with all those parts in the bucket...

So I called the dealer yet again to get these additional missing pieces ordered and the wait continues. On a positive note, I did just receive shipment notification from BXpanded that my trenching bucket, thumb and dolly are shipping today!
