Help! Just got a new 2025r and when I release parking brake the dash light for brake goes off, but brake remains engaged. Dealer said to push the brake pedal to release (duh!) and said they’d have to pick it up some time next week. Dealer was certainly more efficient in cashing my check! I’d like to get some work done. Any tips?

Does the brakes engage and release properly when not using the parking brake?

It sounds like something is binding.

Below is the linkage for the parking brake.

How new are you to hydrostatic drives? Not trying to be rude but when you let off the pedal it will automatically "brake". Are you sure the brakes are engaged, or are you hearing/feeling the hydrostatic resistance.

Hope it's something simple. Nothing worse than having a brand new tractor you can't use.

Check the linkage from the handle to the brake stop bracket. It’s the long rod shown in the picture. Is the pedal acting normally? As in, when you push it down and engage the lock it stays to the floor? When you push to release it springs back?

Old thread, new member with the same problem. My 2025R was dropped off and the Deere rep put the parking brake on and left. I had exactly the same problem. Push parking brake lever down and the light goes off, but the brake didn't disengage, after a phone call to the Deere rep who was baffled and could only offer to come out the next day to look at it and playing around with it, I found that if I push really hard on the brake pedal, sometimes, the lever will disengage. It has much more travel and a louder click/clunk when it disengaged. It feels like the plastic handle on the lever could break each time because it takes a lot of pressure. I'm able to use the tractor but it's always a battle to get the parking brake disengaged. The tractor has to be go back in to be setup with the backordered MMM when it comes in so I'll be looking for them to adjust it.
