Well I pulled the trigger and upgraded my 2025r to a 2038r. I only had 20 hours on the 2025r. It was a great machine but didn't have quite the fork lift capacity. I love the new 2038r even losing money trading in. I would have been a lot better off buying the 2038r in the first place but what do they say, hindsight is 20 20. I'm not worried about the money because we are comfortable and planned well for our retirement. I just built a 30x40 metal pole barn shop. I had 4 inches of high density foam sprayed walls and roof. I added a 3 1/2 ton mini split heat pump with two 18,000 btu heads for heating and cooling. Next is to start building my work benches. Retirement is so much fun.

Sounds like you're having fun! You'll love the 2038. Probably feel like twice the machine you had. (y)

Congratulations from someone who did it right the first time. Although if truth be told I would’ve probably done the 2025 also if it existed.

Congratulations, I also have a 2038R and love it. Even better now that I got rid of my R4 tires!
Go with R3 tires instead?

Maybe…you just needed BIGGER R4 tires like me! 😂

Now that I’ve logged some hours snow plowing and in the woods with my larger loaded R4’s (3series take offs) (no mowing yet) I can see why Deere doesn’t want this as an option. Our 2038rs are hamstrung with the smaller R4s. We (I) can’t get all the horsepower to the ground without spinning a tire. Bigger tires=less slippage for me and better contact/ride and all around usefulness. I’m going to have some stickers made up and put them on my tractor that say 3038r!

I know, I know, I’m still missing some hydraulic flow and lift capacity. Not the same. But for the $200 it cost me (paid $850 for the rears and $200 for the fronts, and sold my old rears for $850) my hybrid 3038r has meaningfully improved from stock. 👍
