I'm learning, slowly. Previous owner wasn't too PM (preventative maintenance) oriented.

Looking at the rear hitch plate so I can change the transaxle gear oil. :dunno:

To do so it appears:
(1) Remove the hitch plate, three (3) bolts on each side.
(2) Drain transaxle, reinstall plug.
(3) Fill to the filler hole.
(4) Replace fill hole plug.

The part I don't know, remove the rear (drawbar/hitch).
Would I be correct? 3 bolts on each side holes are tapped, no nuts. Never-Seez when replacing the bolts.

If you are only wanting to change the gear oil in the tranny, no need to remove the hitch plate. Just remove the bottom plug to drain and refill thru the hole in the front as you mentioned. Some are able to snake a piece of hose or plastic tubing down thru the shift quadrant into the filler hole, add a small funnel, and pour in oil to level. Gotta be patient though. Good luck!

I would like to remove the hitch plate anyway; cleaning, paint the plate.
Too much junque on the plate and transaxle.
Three bolts on each side? Looks easy.

Best I can remember for a 200 series would be remove both pedals, knobs, shift quadrant (except it may be permanently attached), tail light connections, fender pan, belt pulley, belt tensioner spring, brake rod (s), fuel tank, one bolt in the top of tranny/frame, and then those 3 bolts on each side. Probably missed something but you will find it.
With the tranny out, it would be a good time to replace the detent ball springs in the shift rails (have to split trans case) and any leaking seals, etc.

Looks like I could remove the hitch plate just by itself (?). :unknown:
