220R Loader Bucket Options

I have the standard bucket on the 220R loader that is on my 2032R that is still at the dealers. What other buckets are available? I am afraid the standard one may be too light duty for me.

Do you plan on ever having a tooth bar? That would increase the durability of the bottom edge for sure.

On the top of my 1025R bucket, I have bolt on hooks with backing plates. I have moved stuff that i couldn't lift and not had any bending of my top edge yet.

A toothed bar looks useful

I assume you mean what other buckets are available. JD lists the following buckets as options with the 220R:

Right, thanks, where can I see those options?

You can also install a plain bolt-on cutting edge from BXpanded. That would enhance the cutting edge while still providing a smooth surface.

You could also go with a bolt-on top plate from JUFABWORKS. This would greatly enhance the strength of the top edge while at the same time adding a lot of functionality.

Is this one of the items that the GWT code works on? 💰

JD also offers a heavy duty bucket with top-loops and a pre-drilled cutting edge. It weighs around 340 lbs. They market it primarily for a 3-series machines but if you truly need a HD bucket it might be worth the reduction in lifting capacity.

Okay thanks, didn't think about the trade off. I wonder how many people make do with the standard bucket without damaging it.

Probably 8 out of 10 people. :) If you use a little common sense the standard bucket is not easily damaged. Adding the re-enforced top plate with hooks and a bolt-on cutting edge would probably make the bucket just as strong if not stronger than the so-called "heavy duty" bucket. When comparing buckets look at the weight of some of the "heavy duty" buckets compared to standard buckets. It's easy to tell which buckets are truly heavy duty.

I heard a rumor that the "hoops" are no longer offered by JD, probably a lawyer thing if it's true.

The new 220R loader for the 2032/38 had/has an optional HD bucket, but not as HD as the ones for the 3/4 series and don't weigh as much.

I've got a 57" HD bucket on my 220R loader. It has the top & side reinforcements and the top mounted loops. I think it's well worthwhile if you can get your dealer to exchange it for a nominal upcharge.
Wish I would’ve got the 61” (1550mm) bucket with mine, but the dealer didn’t provide any options and I wasn’t prepared with enough information for that choice. Oh well.
Is there a link that shows all these different buckets?

JD Parts is probably your best source. They are listed under the loader parts. There is a loader accessory document floating around but it is 5 or so years old and doesn't list the newer buckets.

My dealer has to order the HD bucket, I am tempted to get the stock bucket and see how it goes.
