Hello all,
I am new to the forum, although I have been browsing it for years. Plowing snow last week with my 2305, I had an empty bucket and was.pushing a small drift of snow when suddenly I heard a short grinding noise. Then, no more 4-wheel drive. I got the tractor in the garage and raised the front wheels. They turn opposite with no problem. When I push the lever into 4-wheel drive the driveshaft from the transmission going to the front axle starts to move and then stops. Seems like something is possibly broken inside the transmission that won't "grab" the driveshaft. 2-wheel drive works fine. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Welcome to GTT!

It would seem like you've probably broken something in this area of the 4wd shifter and gear train assembly. Could be something as simple as the collar on the splined shaft.

Disassembly will be required to diagnose and repair the issue unfortunately.
