2305 mower deck depth stop

7123 Views 11 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Brian
I wonder if anyone has the installation instructions for attaching the depth stop to the frame of a 2305. The bracket is slotted so there has to be some instructions somewhere. This is an L bracket on the 2305 vs attaching to both sides of the frame as the 2210 stop bracket did. I'm a not referring to any of the adjusting linkage. (Deere a 3 bulletins out an that) If you are using the fel lever most of the depth stop problems are non existent as the hyd cylinder holds a lot of the deck weight.

GarBear, welcome to the fun.You will find this is a great site, even though the guys running it are a bit strange (sorry Brian and Dave had to give ya jab).

Back to topic, I am a 2305 owner for about a year now. I am a bit confussed by your question, I was under the impression that the mower hight is set by the knob on the operators platform near your feet. You will have to give me more clues to be of help.

Garbear, I am a little concerned that your dealer did not have this set up for you already or is this something you are adding on your own? Some times a little background info can be very useful, no need to write a book though. Just kinda wondering how you got into this perdicement. Is this the diagram to which you are refering? And which part are you trying to adjust?

Well, I am still really confused. I just reread your initial post and something is not right. The deck hieght is controlled by the nob assembly only (as shown in my previous post). This is the held cutting height you want to maintain. It does not matter if you use the mechanical lift (3pt) or the hydraulic lift. The lifts only raise and lower the deck and do not control cutting hieght. The only reason Deere offers the hydraulic lift is to allow the use of the 3pt independently of the deck.

Now, if you are refering to item 7 in the supplied diagram then I think you maybe over thinking the situation. I did not find any thing at all in the technical service manual to discribe any set-up of this assembly. Therefore, I believe all you have to do is assemble it, position it to fit everything the best the slots will alow and then tighten all fasteners.

If I am way off base here I apologize and you will have to start over on what you are really asking. I just don't understand. I would welcome anyone elso out there to chime and help me out.

On the off chance you are asking something about the lift kit instructions. Here are those.

I am trying to help you out the best I can. I guess I am not sure what is you are trying to do. Are you saying that the mechanism does not operate per its design? Or, are you saying you are trying to make it work different than as designed? Why can't the dealer get it to operate per design?
