2305 Projects

So finally able to sit back and enjoy my 2305. With the recent addition to our new baby (now 6 months old) the tractor projects have taken a back burner. But now... let them begin.
One thing I did get to use this great machine for ( I hope nobody is offended by this)

The first thing I plan on doing is installing some additional lighting for use when snow blowing. I have read pretty much every thread on here in reference to adding these. The things I am having a hard time with is what type and where to get the lights. I like the idea of LED but then again will take any suggestion out there. I also saw some people using these switches (www.otrattw.com) but was not sure on where they were mounting these). Any ideas or options that are "close" to factory? I really want to be able to control them myself and not rely on the factory switch.
I have more questions but will start a new post for those.

Those look like the same switches I used but mine are not custom labeled.

I found this to be a good location and has good clearance behind. They are in easy reach yet not easy to bump by mistake. I have one for rear work light and one for front ROPS mounted lights.

I found it impossible to blow snow with the factory headlights. I did find by testing before mounting that the higher you can mount the lights the better they work for loader and blower usage and probably anything else. I am probably a foot higher than where the factory mounts the optional lights and I found that extra foot to be significant.

Here is where I mounted my switches.

Magnetic mountes on rops are versitle

HI, For what its worth, I bought two magnetic mount work lights that plug into a cigatette lighter. I also bought a cigarette lighter that clips to the battery. I run the cords from the lights around and down the rop and floorboard, then under the hood and plug em into the cigarette lighter. I was pleasently surprised at how firmly the lights attached to the rop. I haven't had snow yet to use them, but I have tested them in the dark on top of the rop and they throw a ton of light. I face one foreward and one backwards so I can use the FEL and the rear blade and see everything much better. When I do use them to move snow, I will use bungy cords to wrap around the magnet to help ensure they wont get knocked off or fall off. (although the magnetic is very strong on them, I just wanted the added security) I also like that I can move them to light up any nearby area, like if I need to look under the tractor or under the hood I cam just move one to where its needed.:hi:

This is where I put my switch. Its where the crusie control would go. Since my tractor dont ahve it, I bought JD part #MIA 10204. Its the rear light switch for the cabbed tractors. I think it looks good, plus it looks like it belongs there too!!!:good2:

I agree. Thats perfect. If I wasnt adding front and rear lights I would have went that route. Looks great !

I put front and rear lights on mine and wire both light to the switch. But I'm thinking about adding another switch to just run the rear lights.
