Ok, I can't be the only guy thats trying do mount a 62d2 mower deck on my 2320. I found this mower and bagger combo for a nice price but now I have to mount it. Has anyone figured out whats needed for this retro fit.

More Detail

You need to give a whole lot more detail to this. I am sorry no one can help you out with the limited info you provided. Are we to assume you are adding a MMM to your machine? Do you have all the correct mounting brackets? Do you have the correct deck for your machine? Exactly what issues are you having?

I did a quick search in the parts catalog. The main deck is the same on both models. So either deck should mount on the 2320 or the 2520/2720 with the correct mounting hardware for the tractor.
The differences are where the ramps & gear box are mounted. The gear box mounting bracket, belt & drive shaft are different between the 2 models. That is as far as I checked, so the may be other different parts.

I posted this in another forum last week for you.
The two on the left are the 2320.
As Chris stated, they are pretty much the same deck, except for the gearboxes, and drive over ramps.
A perfect situation, you should only need the MMM linkage for your machine.

Well, I sure miss read his post, didn't I? :slap-yourself-emoti

So, what is the issue? Is he putting a deck on a machine that don't belong? I am still confused. If this deck is an option for his machine wouldn't his dealer have the same answers provided by Greg and Chris?

I did more searching (Google is your friend). Evidently, the 62D1 and the 62D2 are different. They have the same part number, but the placement of some of the critical parts is different. The 2320 and the 2520 have different widths,so the drive over ramps will be an issue. The driveshafts are different lengths also. Heck, the placement of the gearbox may be an issue too! This "kitbash" may be more trouble than it's worth. The initial "nice price" may cost you more in the long run.
My .02,sell it and get the proper deck for your machine.

Randy,

Yelbike wants to mount a deck built for the 2520/2720 0n a 2320. Since the deck bodies are the same, it can be done.

Chris, that is all that is the same. Look at my previous post. Now this is what I've been reading, not my own observations.

Greg, read my first post above where I stated the other differences that I found.
My point to Randy was that since both decks were starting from the same base, it could be made to work. It will just take more money & parts.

My bad for the lack of info and pictures.:unknown:

I want to mount the 62d2 mmm(desgned for the 2520/2720) on the my 2320. I posted in another forum but i figured this one maybe better as there are more green owners here. I have the amber colored bar for the front of the mower, but don't the quick hitch in the front. I just got it and I haven't mocked it up yet. For mounting the back of it I'll need the mech lift, what does it look like. The one that I have came with the mower so its for the 2520. Or will it fit mine. The on ramps I don't really care about bc I'll probably move it in from the side like my 2305 w/62c. The gear box is the same, the difference is the mounting plate.

I know so people have already done this as i've seen the old threads, but no one has made it clear what the final outcome was. I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone already done all the work.

Greg where did you get parts picture. I need the parts #s to compare.
Answering for Greg here, but they are from www.jdparts.com and you can register there for free. There is a quick little tutorial linked in my signature if you need hepl with it. It's the same system the dealer uses at the parts counter. Hint: "Think like a parts guy" when using it.

Well so far I've only found the gear box mounting plate thats different. The on ramps are the same, but possibly in diferrent mounting holes. I come up with the same drive belt also. I haven't gotten so far as checking the mounting kits.

Hi Yelbike,

On the JD Parts website.:good2:

The 2320 62D1 MMM belt is M138583................The 2520 62D2 MMM belt is M141627.

If you haven't been to JD Parts yet,I suggest to use Kennyd's tutorial on how to navigate that site. It is an awesome place to get all your parts information.
