2520 Snowblower Attaching Kit

Finally got to the dealer today to pick up the Front Attaching Support Kit (LVB25302) for our 2520. I had kept the one from our 2320 (LVB24895) but that obviously would not work. Since the support kit for the 2320 was a 1 piece design, even I could determine where and how to mount it. My question on the two brackets for the 2520 is where they go in relationship to the frame of the tractor. I can obviously match up the bolt holes but it would appear as if these brackets would fit outside the frame but inside the grille guard, thus replacing the black plastic spacers in there now.

Is that correct?

Thanks,

Is that correct?

The middle picture looks like the mount for the 2320, I bought one of these to add strength to the front of my 2320. The 2320 has about a 2" wider frame than the 2520 so the 2320 mount will not fit the 2520. The 2320 JD mount I bought fit between the frame sides. The mount came with longer bolts and the existing spacers were still needed on the 2320.
2520 54" Frt Blade Attaching Kit

I am having sort of the same issue. I had a JD 4110 for several years and traded it in for a new JD 2520 back in Oct. When I was going over the attachments that I already owned, the dealer told me the 54" Front Blade would fit with no issues. Actually it was the Quik Tatch system that is the issue. There doesn't seem to be a way for it to fit the 2520. I have the old plates that are off of the 4110. They are the ones That are in the pics that were posted by Wisconsin. There are already a set of attaching plates (for lack of a better description) on the 2520 as it came from the dealer. The mower deck hangs from these. These original plates would have to be removed and the old 4110 plates installed to make the Quik Tatch work? Is this correct. I couldn't find a place for the old plates to fit along with the plates from the factory. It;s snowing here in KY and I'd like to use the blade. It would be nice if this could be toolless as was the old 4110 / blade.
BTW,,,,,,,,I'm new here. Not new to JD. I've had several over the years. I came across this website and it looked very interesting. Hope to learn a lot from you guys. Thanks in advance,,,,,,,,,,Ron

Welcome to DT Ron!

If what you are saying is true and the plates are EXACTLY the same as shown above. Then you should be good to go. Just swap out the plates and you shouldn't need to swap 'em back. You may need an additional adapter bracket that now connects to these plates for the MMM. As shown in the attached item number one.

I think you need some different plates. I assume you have a MMM?

My memory is a little fuzzy but I went through this with a friends 2320-we needed the LVB24899 to be able to switch from the mower to the QH without having to swap the plates.

John Deere Sales Manual

KennyD,

How do you get access to the sales manual? I'd be interested in seeing that or being able to refer to it when I have questions about new attachments.

Thanks

I have no magic powers Gord, I just knew the part number (LVB24899) and did a Google search on it and that link came up.
Thanks for the help guys. I have the support kit. It doesn't seem to work unless I do what Randy suggests and that is remove the plates and make the swap. John deere says this is a "tooless" changeout. I'm a simple minded old boy and tooless is right down my alley. I have my dealer looking into it with a dealer technical inquiry. They will have a Deere technician dig a little deeper into it. If anyone knows how to make this work as it is supposed to (like it does on the 4110) please fill me in.
As it is,,,,,,,, I like your website,,, it is informative. You guys rock!! Thanks,,,,,,Ron
Not sure I could not find this thread yesterday. I have the same problem & this helps.

Did the drive shaft from your 2320 fit your 2520? I bought a blower off of a 2320 and the drive shaft seems to be to long.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

You are correct, the shaft is longer on the 2320. I ordered a new one for the 2520 from my dealer when we purchased the new 2520.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Any chance you could measure your 2520 shaft. Overall length would be great. The 2320 shaft I have is about 70 1/8 long. I think I may just cut it down if I can find the right length to make it.

Thanks again for responding.

Jeremy,

I apologize for the delay in getting this information to you. I measured the shaft for the 2520 last night and came up with 65 and 1/4 inches.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

I had kept the one from our 2320 (LVB24895) but that obviously would not work.
You still have this part?

Hello Bob

I no longer have this. This it the bracket I brought to my dealer and he swapped me even over for the correct brackets for our 2520.

Doug
Dang! Thanks anyway. I called my dealer and asked if they'd swap out the PTO shaft. No dice.
