Bob,Dang! Thanks anyway. I called my dealer and asked if they'd swap out the PTO shaft. No dice.
There goes Kenny - spending other people's money again.:laugh:Bob, it might be easier just to get a 2720 to match your new blower and cab:laugh:
Bought a 2720, and then got a quick hitch for blower, broom and blade from my 2305 (which was a mistake selling it). I did not like the prospect of swapping plates twice a year and my dealer came up with the mid-mount mower/quick hitch toolless bracket. (LVB24899). after removing the mower brackets and installing the two quick hitch plates, I tries for 2 hours to get the bracket to fit between the plates. It was interesting putting the plates on the outside of the frame, where the spacers were when I had a bush guard. Needed four hands but after a time with blue air surrounding me, the plates were on. Now try to get the bracket on, would not go on, and after 2 hours I finally gave up. took a bracket off and it worked wonderfully. Then I noticed that the bracket did not line up flush with the 'toolless' bracket. the complete bracket and plates are back at the dealer and they are going to bevel opposite side of the two plates so that they are flush with the bracket. I hope that solves my problem. someone at head office may not have tried to fit the physical plates on the bracket, just used the schematic diagrams and the engineers said it will work. Thanks for the help guys. I have the support kit. It doesn't seem to work unless I do what Randy suggests and that is remove the plates and make the swap. John deere says this is a "tooless" changeout. I'm a simple minded old boy and tooless is right down my alley. I have my dealer looking into it with a dealer technical inquiry. They will have a Deere technician dig a little deeper into it. If anyone knows how to make this work as it is supposed to (like it does on the 4110) please fill me in.
As it is,,,,,,,, I like your website,,, it is informative. You guys rock!! Thanks,,,,,,Ron
As a 2720 owner I am really having a hard time following what the issue is.
