The current loader boom moves very slow, the bucket works slow but has pressure.
The boom will not lift the front of the tractor off the ground but the bucket will.
The boom control lever makes a hissing noise when trying to lift the front wheels.

Also, after working the tractor for 30 minutes the loader stops lifting and the engine starts to run warm.

ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

This is the additional information you request to give me a quote for a new loader control valve.

My tractor is a John Deere 2630.
The loader model Number is 145.

The Model number is 30512AA(R or J) cannot make out the last number.
Other numbers on the control valve are:
1B 13 TW
C/N PAT 1959 USPAT 2676502 22675762

2 Spool
Closed System
Dual Control
Boom Float

What is a replacement control valve for me.

Many things can cause the closed center hyd system on tractors such as your 2630 to fail after operating for a few minutes. Any internal hyd leak can cause hyd oil to heat lowering oil viscosity & rob trans pump output to frt pump. A simple test to check FEL control valve is disconnect valve return hose from tractor them aim open hose in tractor hyd filler hole or 5 gallon bucket. With FEL valve control levers in neutral start engine & no oil should exit open return hose. If oil exits hose be sure if valve has a relief valve that it's **completely closed** because CC FEL valve doesn't have a need for a built in relief valve because hyd pressure is controlled by stroke control valve in frt hyd pump. Another cause for oil to exit open return hose during this test is blown inner seal on CC plug if applicable.

Does your tractor have options of hyd ind pto &/or hyd reverser/hi-lo? With 3 pt raised/engine running look in hyd filler hole behind seat for moving oil which indicates leaking 3 pt control valve seals.

fel test 2630

I will try testing FEL today. Thank you.
Now is the FEL the quick connect line from the Control Valve to the tractor?

Tractor does not have reverser. or mid PTO.

Second question in your post does not make sense to me :dunno:

How long have you had the tractor/loader? Did it operate correctly and now has a problem, or has it been this way since you got it?

Have you:

Checked hydraulic oil level?
Changed trans filter?
Cleaned sump screen?
Checked system pressure?

When you say engine gets warm after 30 minutes, how warm? What does temp gauge show? On my 2030 it runs (temp gauge) needle straight up at operating temp.

Both of my hoses have quick connects. should I take off the disconnect coupling?

Yes to all your questions plus changed oil. I just purchased this 2630.... When I changed the oil it had 20 gals of oil in the trans. not 10 as the book says...

The temp creeps up into the red and keeps going.....

When I stated *open hose* I implied no hyd fitting or coupler installed on hose so any oil would be free to exit return hose if spool valve happens to at fault IE leaking internally

FEL= front end loader

I asked if tractor had ind hydraulic pto not mid-pto
I know FEL = front end loader. Question two of his post still does not make sense to me.

Does it overheat if you do not use the hydraulics? That sounds more like clogged radiator.

Yes I thought that is what you meant.
As far as overheating it goes up to the red zone on the gauge and then I shut it down.

Thank you for your help. I'm at a total loss when it comes to the hyd in this tractor.

Closed center hyd problems require some very good diagnostic procedures to determine the problem. I spent many yrs diagnosing CC hyd problems at a JD dealership & I can still get stumped. Have you changed engine thermostat lately?

No I have not changed the thermostat. Also, I added additional oil so I could see it in the filler cap.

With the 3pt hitch up there is no flow of oil in the transmission.

I will unhook the fel return line tomorrow and check for blow by in the control valve.

There's a hyd oil dipstick on RH foot platform located by right heel when operator is seated. With engine operating at idle speed the oil should be at full mark with nut on dipstick resting on threads of bushing that dipstick fits into..

Yes that is how I check the oil. The only filter I did not check is the one in the front pump
That was because the other filters were really clean. I do have the larger pump with reservoir above the tank.

ok, just checked the control valve for leak on return line.
I have a steady flow leaking out. Not bad but a steady stream.
Does anyone know where and what control calve to buy for this type hook up
