270B hydraulics

1540 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Indyjet
Hooked up my 270B to my 2038R for the first time this spring. All the controls are froze up. The 3 pt hydraulics and loader hydraulics are working. When I have the 270B hooked up all the joystick on the backhoe won’t move to include the stabilizer feet

Any ideas?

I'm new and know relatively little (got my tractor 2 days ago), but I'd recheck the hydraulic connections. I hope that's not insulting, good luck, I'll be following along.

Did a little searching, this sounds similar.

If the levers won't move, then they are either rusted in place or there is something jamming them. You need to do some investigating.

That situation sounds identical to mine. Yes, the backhoe was outside all winter. I find it a little disturbing that the mechanicals are that susceptible to rust and seizing up. I will work some penetrating oil in and see what happens.
Does anyone know if I’ll need to remove any fittings inside the control box to get enough oil in to free it up. It appears to have a small set stew on top where it’s froze up

Do you mean the levers won’t physically move or the levers move but you don’t have hydraulic function?
Sincerely

I want to thank you guys for the help. That’s what the problem was.

I had to remove the casings over the pistons, tap with hammer to free them up even aftersoaking with penetrating oil. Everything work correctly.
Saved me no doubt $200-$300 plus 50 mile trip to dealership or two

Did you ever figure this out, I have the same problem.
