So picked up a 3025E new from the dealer at a good discount because it was a new 2017. The question I have is it has all the updates as a 2018. 300 loader ,rear fuel fill, new body style, new dash board, Even the pto switch is the toggle. How do I tell what what year it is by the serial number. It’s. 1LV3025EAHJ. I think the H is the year date code but I don’t know what it means. Any help would be great.

The serial number break for the change in design is 1LV3025E*HJ120002-. JD goes more by serial number than they do model year but saying that, only the tractors described as 2018 models have the features you describe. In other words, any time you go for parts or service the critical piece of information to ensure you get the correct parts will be the serial number, not the model year. The redesigned model was announced on Aug. 30, 2017. On the forums we like to refer to the two 3025E versions as Gen-1 and Gen-2 to avoid any confusion.

Your tractor could have been built towards the end of the 2017 model year.

In any case, if you received a discount because it was an "old" model you did well because it is a Gen-2 3025E.

So the dealer looked it up and it shows it was born on Dec of 2017. It’s a Christmas tractor. Bet it wasn’t shipped till 2018 lol. I got a great deal and love this thing. Still has 6 year warranty 10 year if I service it at the dealer also free 0 percent financing for 82 months ??

If you got a discount because the dealer said it was the previous model year then you got a TERRIFIC deal!
