3032e Broken front axle LVA15986

Hello everyone, I have a 9yo 3032e with a 305 loader, 750 hours.
she has served me very well, I love this tractor.
recently I noticed the front spindle seals leaking most.y from the LHS and decided to change them.
I jacked up the tractor took off the wheels, drain the oil but soon as the steering rack released the hub dropped 1 inch.... I felt concerned and for good reason, the end of the axle was Brocken off and looks like it has been the way for a long time, contacted JD replacement is $7,900au plus 10%
for a bare axle :(
im in Australia couldn’t find a used one, also JD said there is an early and late model with the same part number...?
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)
thank you

well that's the first one i've seen busted like that. jeepers how long did u let it leak oil? looks like ur rim rubbed the case pretty bad too. did it ruin the lip of the rim also? good luck
Hello Big Jim the seal has been leaking for 2 weeks on both sides .... I can see it’s been broken for a long times, only because the seal leaked did it reveal the Brocken housing.
‘there is no damage to the wheel rim at all. The marks are from casting,
today I removed the whole front axle, and are now concidering welding up the housing with cast iron rods and a stick welder...? It’s already Brocken so might as well see what happens
thanks for the good luck I think I’m going to need it :):):)

what do you all think ? Is it going to work?
felt like it welded really nice inside wouldn’t line up because it been warn out by the shaft

tried to replace the hub seals but had no luck there, one bearing was completely chewed out and the other side the bearing didn’t come out

I was shocked to find the bearing looked like this at 750 hours always serviced by John Deere.
the bearings are made in China.....
any suggestions would be great appreciated:)

Just FYI, the LVA15986 axle assembly in the U.S.A. is $5,239.84. It appears the conversion rate is $1.39 Australian for every $1 U.S., which brings the price to $7,295.54, which is close to the price you had quoted.

There is another front axle assembly listed for the 3032e which is shown as part number, TA13845.This axle is listed as the correct axle for World Wide series tractors with a serial number of 1LV3032E*LL300001 and higher. This axle assembly is quite a bit less expensive at $3,765.00 USD. That converts to $5,242.09 AUS.

For some reason, I am not able to post a screen shot of the page today, but you might want to check into the part number if you need to purchase the entire axle if your repair doesn't work (which I certainly hope it does as it would save you a bunch of $$$$).

Good luck with your repair and project and looking forward to a good result for you on this project.

Side topic. How did you get a regular loader on your tractor in Australia? Another member here from Australia said tractors have to have a self leveling loader.
Man...I'd be looking for a complete axle from a tractor salvage outfit. Looks like a crack / damage on the inside of the housing from when it broke. The internal shaft must be damaged too.

I had leaking seals and found the outer hub bearing in similar condition. Located a Timken replacement for the chinese bearing. Part #6208 - C3 (open). The new seals from JD were redesigned and much sturdier than the original. Hopefully it holds up at ~ 1100 hrs now

Good luck, and nice weld on the cast iron.

PS - No "C" in the word BROKEN, and no "A" in WORN.
