The 3038E has a cab (400 lbs) and filled rear tires. My comparison is to an old 650 with a 67 loader. The 67, while it bolts on, is probably a bigger loader than the 650 is designed to handle. At any rate, with a ballast box attached I can bury the bucket of the 650 into the bottom of an iced up snow bank (yes, we still have them here :banghead
and easily lift the back of the tractor off the ground.
The 3038E, not so. In fact, the loader simply "stalls" and the tractor itself is rock stable. Since I don't have anything other than the 650 to compare it to, I was wondering if this is normal. Once I fill a bucket, no problems lifting it at all.
Similarly, with the bucket level, I cannot lift the front wheels off the ground. I can't tell if the cylinders are fully retracted and this is a limit of the loader geometry or if I've run out of lift. Dumping the bucket creates enough force to lift the front end and hold it. Again, just wondering if this is normal.
