I have a 35zts pre july 2002 mini. starts up fine, runs for about 15 to 20 minutes and looses power to the point where it almost stalls. shut it down for 20 minutes runs fine. I've checked the water pump, fine, installed a new thermostat, changed all fluids to recommended specs, changed all filters with jd oem parts, a new fuel pump. I'm stumped! bought it at an auction as a repo, so there's no documentation, maintenance logs etc... no clue how many hours, by the looks of it she's been run.

May want to check the fuel cap. There is generally a vent in the cap if it gets plugged then there will be a vacuum in the tank after the engine runs for some time. You can run the engine till it stalls then listen closely for an inrush of air when the cap is removed or when it stops running remove the cap and try to restart it.

Welcome...

I am betting its the Injection Pump, and it needs a professional rebuild-not typically a DIY task. You could try misting water on it to cool it and see if that helps when it starts to stall.

Definitely sounds like fuel starvation. Fuel cap is an easy check. Fuel supply to include the pickup and fuel lines should be checked as well.

Does it smoke at all when it loses power? If so, what color? Does it smoke when it won't start?

huh that might explain why the 2 fuel filters are not full of fuel, they generally fill half or less.

yes she does smoke, white smoke not a lot, but more than normal
When it stalls or when it won't start (after the engine has been running)?
