3PT quick hitch questions??

How many of you folks are running 3PT quick hitches??

Do you loose much of the lift capacity with the hitch being 4" father away from the tractors lift points?? Like with 3PT pallet forks for example??

Are they easy to back up and hook on, with out getting off the tractor??

Will, I have the iMatch, JD's version with the non-adjustable top hook. There is no noticeable loss of height to me, and I can mount anything I have without getting off the seat short of hooking up the PTO shaft. It is one of those things you will wonder how you ever got along without it once you have it.

Thanks Kenny. It wil come off for any PTO work, ad I do not want to lengthen the PTO shaft. But for the forks, and other non PTO dstuff, it will be great to have.

Do not really want an easy change (great product, just not for me.), as that is permanent, and I am not giving up on the telescoping link ends, love them too much. Also, if i have to get off to hook up one,I am hooking them all up.

Just note that you can get a PTO extender for about $20 that will make up the difference in the longer shaft.
Mine has been great, I can get my chipper on in about 2 minutes, and that has 3PH, PTO and hydraulics. Switching between non-PTO stuff is a breeze, you don't even have to get out of the seat.

I do have to remove my quick hitch and 3PH when I mount the backhoe so I replaced the cotter pins with small lynch pins. I can get the backhoe on in 5 minutes if the planets (attachment hooks) align.

Will, I have two Landprides just like in your link, one for each machine. I use mine for everything, all attachments as well as the ballast box. I know it will be a pain to lengthen the shafts or get an extender as Ken suggested. But, once you do this, adding and removing equipment is a dream. :yahoo: Highly recommended, once you add it you'll never remove it. Oh and I do not notice and power loss in lift capability.

That's exactly what I did, and I got my extender at the Deere dealership.

Randy and I have the same Landpride QH in the link you provided Will. I've noticed a slight lift geometry change with my rear blade; but it's not enough to cause me any trouble, and the QH's advantages far outweigh any real or perceived disadvantages.

With a light implement such as a sprayer or carry-all, you'll probably want to disengage the lower pin locks prior to mounting the implement as it won't have enough weight to overcome the latch springs. This is minor.

Here are pictures of mine.

Yup,that's what I did with the used spreader I bought, got the extender.
