3rd scv

In my sales brochure for the 1-series, it shows a 3rd function SCV kit as available accessory. It states (in parentheses) that this option *requires* power beyond. My dealer sales his ordering info shows the opposite, that you can't have 3rd function with PB.
I'm thinking he is right- but even he wasn't too sure, telling me I could always add it later if I found out otherwise!

Anyone with the 1-series on this forum have the 3rd SCV?

Had it and returned it because it wouldn't work with the PB. It needs the same plumbing points as the PB and it also is hardlined to come out the exact same holes the PB does. Seemed pretty dumb to me, so I'm going to make my own that sits off the PB. I figure it don't need it on when the backhoe is on anyhow...

Thanks for chiming in HW. Plus it looks like that JD 3rd kit is ~600$, pretty rich for what you get (but I guess that applies to many things!)

This diverter makes it sound like its plug and play- but I would think there really isn't the real estate available right in from of the existing FEL SCVs on the 1-series. I suppose I would need a couple of pigtails to move the diverter on top of the FEL frame mount? Any other suggestions?

I guess my only thought is that if you are going to the trouble to add a valve or diverter, then you might as well figure out how to add two (one with float). With that you can add TnT for a pretty reasonable price.
There is a long thread on this here (not a 1-series, but it's the same principle): http://www.greentractortalk.com/forums/showthread.php?1776-JD-3rd-SCV-Kit-install

Hopefully it will not confuse you more, but in short most believe the kit JD sells is an overpriced joke at best.

Correct, that will never fit. It's designed for larger tractors that have one rear remote and "splits" it into two.

As I stated in another thread, someone I know very well is planning on offering a diverter kit just for the 1 and 2 series tractors.

That is the best way to do it.

Yes, I'm eagerly awaiting any info on a SCUT diverter kit from one of the vendors (whom I've had good dealings with already)!
Piecing together a diverter kit and finding room to mount it is challenging.
I've seen the other threads Kenny, and although they are nice to have access to, I find myself discouraged as I wade through all the nomenclature!

Not really, but he will be getting on it soon now that the new shackle mount project is finished:flag_of_truce:

OK guys, he gets the hint.

I just want to be clear though that this kit will be for a 3rd function on the loader to operate a small grapple or even a FEL mounted snowplow.

Should we wait till the one year anniversary to ask about any updates.

With artillians grapple soon to be released (we hope) would love to see anything this person might come up with.

Kenny, is this a true 3rd function, or a diverter setup? Multiple units? :unknown:

I just had the 3rd SCV installed on my 2720 which I believe is the same kit. Yes, it is a tad overpriced as are most things associated with Deere but it works like a charm with my hydraulic top-link. Plus, since it was a JD kit installed by the dealer it is covered by the warranty.
