Tractor: 4066R Cab Hydrostatic 4WD with two rear remotes, 180H loader with the third SCV routed for front grapple attachment.

I tried to use a rear remote for the first time on the tractor to a wood splitter. I wasn't having much success, and it was very slow. May have Bumped on or HIT both rocker switches in the cab for Continuous flow and Diverter valve getting out to unhook. And or helper played with the same SWITCHES trying to help. Now, loader controls don't work properly and remote doesn't either. Bucket curl works, but lift on loader barely does, and lifts a slow 2' rise on arms and quits. Move the loader control again and it lifts briefly and quits again. Won't lower lift arms to the ground. With the engine off; loader cant be lowered to the ground unless you go to full float. Tractor has a pronounced louder whine at the rear of the tractor near the hydraulic pump. Fluid levels checked and verified; no leaks or connections loose.

I can't find much help in manual and dealer scratching their heads initially when I tried to diagnose the problem on the phone. They don't have much knowledge of these large frame compacts. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS APPRECIATED!

Hi Axel. I'm sorry I can't help or offer any suggestions- but wanted you to know I read your post and feel your frustration. Good luck with the problem brother. Jeff O'Donnell

At this point don’t sweat it too much. Problem should be easily solved.

But remember the squeaky wheel gets grease so don’t let them sit on it.

Sounds like the continuous flow switch has diverted and reduced the flow to the hydraulic system for the FEL. It may have stuck the valve that provides the continuous flow in the on position. That’s my unprofessional opinion and worth less than what I was paid for it but is what my mind seems to think.

Technician came out for half day without any ideas. Took to dealership. They suspect spool valve? Less than 100 hours. Thank you for your response and suggestions. Joe

If you were trying to run a log splitter with its own controls, i don't believe that it is designed to do that. Therefore, i believe you have turned on something that needs turned off.

I would think power beyond for log splitter.

I have had electro-hydraulic spools rust into place on my 3 series from non use. Always seems to be moisture in the hydraulic system.

Good Luck

Need to know how you have this hooked up. The rear remotes don't have the flow needed to run a log splitter ram. Also keep in mind you need to raise the tractor RPM to get the flow rate to increase.

You're probably going to want a Power Beyond for that log splitter....

I believe he has a switch on the console to select continuous flow to rear(power beyond) or normal operation. This is a nice option.

Having a similar hydro issue. At about 90 hours the engine in making a whining noise on and off. Sounds like hydraulic bypass. Was losing power and tractor seemed to run slower. Mine is in the shop and waiting to get checked out.

On my 4044R the 3rd function on my grapple is still not working.

I can bypass the remote and plug right into the belly of the tractor with a tilt ram I had laying looses in the shop.

It will work it but crazy slow.

I then plugged that ram into the new remote ports and same thing, crazy slow, but it moves it.

I plug in the grapple that I had used many times on my 2038R and nothing happens at all with the grapple.

Years ago on the JD tractors I grew up with we had some flow settings adjustments we could make turtle and rabbit sort of thing on a lever by the connections.
I don't see anything like that on the 4044R.
Is there some sort of flow settings that can be changed somewhere?
