Good evening. What’s your educated opinion on a box scraper width for a 20 horse 4100 HST? Is 6’ too wide? It’d be nice to go 6’, but 5’ would work. Thanks for your time.

No larger than 5’ IMHO, 6’ is to large for your 4100.

I agree with Kenny. 48" and no wider than 60" of course the material you're moving has got a lot to do with your experience and progress.

48" width should cover your tracks and give you more maneuverability. However @ 60" width you have better side to side leveling / grading capability.

I run 60" on my 4010 just fine. It does bog down in soft and muddy. I run a 5' box, blade and rock rake.

I wound up buying a 4’ scraper for a fair deal. It does a good job and will push clay over the top of the moldboard without getting stuck. Sculpts a lot better than my 6’ blade.
