The tie rod boots on my tractor are cracked. The joints themselves are fine, with no slop. Jdparts does not show them as a separate item. Has anybody found a suitable boot replacement? I struck out on search.

You should be able to get them from Deere. I just got some (2 in package) for my 3033.
I imagine yours are a different size, but I ordered LVA 14170

Measure the OD of the housing and stud, and just get a generic tie rod boot. The automotive equivalent for 4wd outer tie rod end is a Moog ES176, but you have to drill and tap the 1/2-20 ID hole for the inner tie rod. I modified a Moog EV398 for 25% of what JD wanted for the inners.

Take a look at partscatalog.deere.com
Looks like it is part #4, but there are two different part numbers, depending on which tie rod you have. May have to contact dealer.
