OK, not trying to derail this thread, but it reminds me of a story, with a moral. It is related, so bear with me.
Back in the early 80's I had a 1976 Corvette that was my daily driver. One day on the way home from work it died. A very good parts guy assured me that it was the module in the distributor that had gone bad and sold me a replacement. After replacement I still had a broken Corvette and no transportation. I spent a week hunting for the failed part. In the end it turns out that the new module was as bad as the old one. Moral and I am not saying this is your situation, but the new parts can be defect as well. Something you want to keep in the back of your mind if you are running out of options. Those electrical parts just PITA to me. :gaah:
