Hi,
I thought someone might know where to get the bracket's for for a JD 42 C deck on my LT-160. These are the 2 brackets in the
front that the wheels go on. I have learned these are called anti-scalping wheels. I checked with the local JD guys and they tell me these are no longer available. These are welded on.

Any suggestions much appreciated,
Thank You!

I don't know if welded replacement parts were/are available for older models, but I've yet to see JD offer any replacement part for newer models that requires welding. If it's not bolted, clamped, glued, snapped, etc., they don't offer it separately.

Is this what your deck looks like?

The brackets you're asking about are welded on and not available separately. The complete deck is $665.54, if it's still available.

Your might consider seeing if they can be re-welded, or fabricated from scratch.

There are also a few JD boneyards out online - a google search should find them. One of them might cut the brackets off a damaged deck and sell them to you.

Else, start watching Craigslist for a used deck.

42C Deck

Thanks to both Denverguy and Kylew.
After looking around, the only way to find these is EBAY, Craigslist or salvage yard. I ended up taking a scalp wheel off a 48C deck and made a template
of the bracket.
I bought 4" x 6" plate of 3/16" steel, i just cut out the templates this morning. Then i gonna heat it up and bend a "L" bracket" on it, drill out the holes,
weld it back one. I hope it all goes well.
This is a great site with great folks on it.
Thanks Again!
