I tried to start. The panel lit up normally, the solenoid clicked for a microsecond, and then all was quiet and black. The lights did not work. I used the tractor for a several hours with several starts the day before and all was well.
I checked the battery with a meter and it showed 12.5+ volts but the cable ends were dirty. I removed and cleaned them and tried again. This time the panel lit dimly but no click or crank. I tried the turn signals and they worked slowly and dimly but backwards! Left signal illuminated right light and vice versa. I checked voltage at the starter end of the positive cable to frame ground and it showed 12.5+ volts. The ignition fuse has continuity.
Or you can do it yourself with a helper. Continuously check the battery voltage while engaging the starter (turning the key). If it drops below 10v the battery is bad.

Coaltrain and Kennyd. You guys were right on. I had it load tested and it failed. Put a new battery in and it started right up and all was fine. You saved me hours of frustration.
