46 Backhoe Will Have It's Revenge!

Ok, it's suppose to happen the other way around. During some high winds a tree took out my backhoe. It came down across the back cylinder, breaking off the hydraulic fitting and bending the cylinder rod. See below...

KennyD came over and we took the cylinder off of the backhoe. He took it home with him and took it all apart. He quickly found that the rod was bent by placing a straight edge against it.

Once I ordered the new rod, Kenny installed it and brought the cylinder back over. We soon got it put back in where it belongs and hooked up the hydraulics to test it out. We're back in business again!

Now, I promise you once I am done bagging leaves I am going to hook the backhoe to the tractor and we are going to have our revenge. This time it will be the backhoe taking out the tree and not the other way around.

A big "Thank You" goes out to Kenny for helping me out (again). I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!!!

Nice repair job loved all the pics. Would have thought the damage was much worse than it turned out.

Yes revenge will be sweet I can hear the distictive sound of roots cracking :thumbup1gif:

Fortunately, the tree hit the top pf the arm first. I think the cylinder damage came when the weight of the tree slid down it. If the cylinder took the direct hit, I do think it would have been a lot worse than it was.
