I was out rototilling with my 4600 and the PTO just stopped working. where do I start I am guessing the PTO solenoid went bad? Is there a simple way to test this or should I start with something else?

10 minutes before this happened the tractor just shut right off and quit. I blew a 20amp fuse. I swapped it out with the blinker 5amp fuse I think and the tractor started right back up. I replaced the fuse and it does run fine now. Are these 2 related?

Thanks

thank you for the manual information! I wish I would have remembered to check the Ohms on the coil before I messed it up trying to take it apart. It would not slide off the stem of the solenoid. It was also rusty as all get out. I do know that when I hooked 12 volts to it nothing worked the push rod didn't move and there was no magnetism to the coil. I am stuck buying a new one now. I am about positive that the solenoid coil was bad. Next time I will check the Ohms on the coil and I will check it on the new one when I get it so I have a base line if it happens again.
