5075E questions

Was looking at a new 2021 5075E at the dealer today and noticed two things. The power reverser shuttle assembly was not square to the steering wheel, i feel it should have been at 9:00. It was at 10:00, is that normal? Also when in park gear in the transmission there was no park indicator lit on the dash.

Lastly side question. This tractor will be for a remote property but in the event i need to move it, it well exceeds my trucks rated towing. Do any of you use local truck services to move equipment of this size, 150-200 miles?

The thing is a beast, the 520M loader and hla bucket is massive.

I noticed the power reverser was tilted a bit too at first. Now I’d agrue that it isn’t. 😂

In park the neutral indicator flashes, out of park it is solid.

I move my own equipment.

The powershuttle lever is slightly offset, but close to the 180* position. (Say it's at the 175* position or so) Feels natural to me. IDK is the typical forklift lever positioned much differently? I've never paid much attention to it.

Think of the park position as a parking brake. The E series is a fairly budgeted machine. It's a good machine, but it's not a $90K 5R. Not having a light indicate when it's in park is not unexpected. It's easy to tell if it's in park by the gear lever position. There is a light for when the F/R lever is in neutral.

I would recommend at least a 3/4 ton truck for doing a lot of towing of this tractor. A 5075E with filled tires, a FEL, and a heavy implement can surpass 5 tons. That doesn't mean you have to go buy a brand-new truck. A 20 year old Diesel 3/4 or better still 1 ton truck will do the job no problem. You can get one for fairly cheap and use it for heavy towing and hauling.

Here's my 5075E on our old 01 Ram 3500 that we no longer have.

The reverser lever on most tractors with reversers is at about 10:00 rather than right at 9:00.

There is no park indicator light on any of the 5Es as there is no parking brake, there is a parking pawl on the transmission. Thus you can't put it into gear with a parking brake on and that's really what the lights are designed to try to get the operator to avoid doing. I don't remember a park indicator light on older 5 series units either.

My Dad had his tractor that's the size of a 6M hauled 200 miles by a local equipment dealer and their lowboy. They happily did it for him. Going rate is about $2.50-3.50 per loaded mile.

The 520M is a very large loader for this size of tractor, the loader and bucket together weigh over a ton.

Thank you guys for the info, glad to hear everything checks out, makes sense about the parking gear. I have a 2013 f250 gas motor with a max towing of 12500. I think tractor, loader and loaded tires plus trailer will far exceed this. Will have to explore hired hauling options. Thanks again for the help.

You can pull more than 12,500 with a gasser F250 as the same truck with the same frame, transmission, and axles but with the pricey diesel engine is rated for probably twice that much although I wouldn't want to pull 20k+ pounds with only a 7000 pound SRW truck. My Dad has a 2010 gasser F250 with the 5.4 which makes quite a bit less power than the 6.2 yours has makes. He just pulled 10 of the 4x6 rounds we made in one of my fields back to his place on a 8 1/2' x 24' deckover that weighs about 4500 pounds empty, I figure he was pulling about 14,000 pounds as the bales are probably just under 1000 pounds each. He reported no issues other than getting 8 MPG. But, the bales took up the entire trailer deck and gave perfect weight distribution as a result.

An open station MFWD 5075E with a 520M loader and loaded tires will weigh about 9500 pounds or so. You can probably pull it but you will need a stout trailer and be very careful with weight distribution. The tractor my Dad had somebody else pull weighs about 15,000 pounds and with a suitable trailer would have been north of 20,000.

The larger frame 5Es do have a park indicator. My 5090E does. If my unit is in park and in either forward or reverse and I put it into gear it will flash the N light and do nothing until I shift to neutral.

We've been towing our 5075E with a 1994 Chevy C3500 CC DRW with a 6.5L diesel, but mostly with a 2017 F250 CC SRW long bed with a 6.7L diesel. The F250 pulls it like no ones business. We are looking at purchasing a 2021 Chevy Silverado CC DRW flatbed with the 6.6L Gas engine that Chevy just came out with last year. We just can't justify the added $10,000 to $12,000 expense for the diesel upgrade.
Towing is just fine with each vehicle we've towed with. Just make sure you have your trailer load balanced properly so you have enough tongue weight. Our position on the trailer changes ever so slightly depending on what attachments we are hauling with the tractor.
We love our 5075E and hope it gives us many years of service.
