My 1st year doing maintenance as I got the broom last year. For the life of me I can’t see how to get to the gearbox hole for checking fluid level. The bristles are in the way. I can feel and find the plug but I am not sure I can easily get a hex socket on it and for sure can’t see if fluid is there without letting it spill out. I’ve looked at the manual several times but not seeing anything.

I would take a coat hanger wire and bend a 1/2-3/4" hook at 90 degrees and place it in the bottom of the plug hole. When you remove it, it should show you how far below the bottom of the plug your oil is.

I was looking at the different manuals for the 52 broom online and there is 1 that indicated to take a coat hanger and measure how much oil from top of vent/fill. It indicated level should be 1.8-2” below top of vent. Thanks
