Sorry for the tardy response, I must have missed your post. Nope, no mess. With a quality ball valve, you can regulate the volume of air/condensate being released, so it doesn't spray. Sure, it goes on the floor and leaves a rust red dry patch, but it is a workshop. The rust red patch is the least of the cosmetic issues---with the homely owner being at the top of that list.When you drain it, doesn't it make a mess? I seem to recall RandyM had a pipe that turned into a pail.
My draining experience is from my 26 gallon compressor; on the bottom, and its a colossal mess. Rusty water sprays all over and if too close to the ground it sprays the rusty water/mud/small stones EVERYWHERE.
