Newbie here. I just bought a non-running... Well, barely running 97 445 for $1000 and feel like I got a bargain. It has 837 hours currently. I just zero timed all the fluids, filters and replaced the blades on the deck. Anyway, before getting to this point.... Evidently, the PO had replaced the cam gear and head gaskets. I found that the right (#2??) cylinder had 0 compression. After pulling the valve cover I discovered that the intake valve push rod was not seated on the lifter/cam follower? whatever it is. After getting that sorted, the machine runs like a champ. It is definitely the best built piece of equipment I have ever owned and I'm loving it.

That said, the 60" mower deck is WAY more than I need. Its a long shot, but if someone in the Atlanta area would like to trade for a 54" or even the 48" deck I would greatly appreciate it.
