Well guys, I got that call I've been waiting for. My 6330 showed up on Tuesday afternoon and is in the JD shop getting the loader put on today. I plan on going down there Thursday and paying them for it, maybe go take a peek, just might get it Friday. That tractor better not be a lemon is all I can say!!

Well if you see yellow on it anywhere I would be suspicious, go ahead and pay for it and send it to me for testing.

Bruce, glad to hear your new tractor is in and I suspect that in the long run you will be glad you went for the high end model.:good2:

I don't know where you're at; but I've got 35-acres of flat dirt you can do donuts on with your new toy.

just returned from looking.

Looks like the truck driver who brought it from Illinois went some back roads getting to Kansas, pretty dirty, but mainly just road dirt from rain, it'll wash off. They will put the loader on hopefully starting tomorrow, but it might be Monday. Soon enough, as things are still pretty damp here. Had hoped for Firestone radials as we have a dealer here local on farm tires, other choices were Michelin and Good Year. Firestones they are.

Hey everyone.

New to this site whilst trying to figure out my 6330 issues (don't mean to put a downer on this one)

Most of you guys are from the US? Regards from Australia here. Tasmania even.

If anyone can shed some light on this issue your ideas would be much appreciated.

Traded a 6120 with loader for a 6330 with loader.

This tractor handles much much better than the old one. Its great for spraying now on our steep ground.

Unfortunatly this tractor shoud have 10Hp more at the engine than the old tractor (6210) (105 to 95)

This isn't the case. Even normal driving you can notice the lack of power. Let alone ground work etc. Spraying is horrible as the second you hit the hydrualics the engine dies, bad. Turning brakes will stall the engine unless you are in B gear, no higher.

Today our john deere dealer arrived with their dyno. Very interesting to see this in action. 88Hp at the PTO was the result, which according to the tech, was correct.

Hitting the hydrulic during the test will drop it almost 50HP to 40HP. Definatly a problem there...

Biggest problem is the John deere salesman didn't explain properly the difference for not getting a premium model, as this was obviously the machine in stock and wanted to sell.
Non hydrualic brakes and a very out of date gear driven hydrualic pump were never mentioned.

That aside i'm upset that an upgrade in tractor (10HP more) feels like it has 10HP less, without using the hydrualics.

Its got me beat,

Take care.

Welcome to DT! Yes, most here are from the US or Canada. Sorry to hear of your troubles with the new machine.

Turn a boxing roo loose on the dealer and tell him you won't call-em off until you get your money back.

Seriously, I hope you and the dealer can come to a mutual understanding over the tractor's issues. I can't believe John Deere would design a tractor that lost 50 HP when using the tractor's hydraulics.
There must be a problem. Maybe the dealer would be willing to go half and half on the upgrade hydraulic pump?

Did your dealer put any gauges on the tractor hydraulics? It would be interesting to see what the system pressure is during the HP drop. Did they chart the torque curve or record turbo boost? Did they mention a software upgrade on the ECU? I have a million questions on this one. Let's start with those. I will do some research.

Kenny, Do we want to move this topic to it's own thread?

Edit: Is that a European machine or North American version? A serial number would be helpful.

There have been some changes to engine software on these tractors. If your engine controller has SW60077G software, it sohould be upgraded to SW60077H version to correct low power problems. The hydraulic system on the non-Premium tractors will definitely see some power loss when hydraulics are used compared to the premium tractors since the gear pump is always pumping maximum flow, but 50hp loss is extreme. Does the 6330 have similar transmission, 2wd vs mfwd, tire sizes? Is it ballasted the same? As kjung17 says, there are many questions that need answers to make a comparison/diagnosis. Also, was your old tractor ever dynoed? Maybe it was overfueled. It might have actually had 100hp.

That would be best, but the OP has to start one then I can move the replies to it. I can't pull some post's and make a new thread from it.
