Our 7430 premium got parked underneath the eves of our tool shed before a 6" rain. Now the light asssembly in the front grill has water sitting in the bottom. ANyone have an idea how that aassembly comes out and best way to get the water out and assembly dried out?

TIA

JD Parts shows that the plastic cover is removeable as are the light housings. It looks like the clear front cover just pops off and could easily be cleaned.

I was told the clear front cover is molded to the back assembly where the center light housings mount to and not a seperate piece?

Perhaps the JD Parts illustration is misleading. I see it describes the frame as having the glass in it. Is the clear part actually glass or is it plastic?

I assume you could also remove the light housings and get in there and clean out the water. Do you know what the filter does? It is #4 in the upper illustration but then there is a different filter kit shown below.

the glass front coveere is bonded to the frame #5- looks like the only way to get into it is to remove the 4 lense assemblies
I was hoping someone could tell me what the #4 filter assemblies do?

Agree.

I'll offer you my theory. :) I would say that huge glass front is very prone to fogging up so they provided an air vent to try to mitigate it. To take it one step further they installed a filter on the vent line to help prevent dust and debris from collecting inside the glass. Not sure though why there are different filter configurations.

BTW... I see someone on Ebay is selling a replacement glass for the headlight assy. The price sure beats the $500+ that JD wants. It also implies that it is somehow reoveable.

thanks- I pulled the asembly and removed the four sockets and wiped it out then used a hair dryer and used vaselien on the four socket gaskets and reinstalled- hopefully it will dothe trick

Sounds like the best plan.

If that cover was plastic I would be inclined to drill a couple microscopic holes in the bottom edge to vent any moisture build up. But with it being glass that wouldn't be so easy.

Hopefully this will do the trick- thanks for your help
