I was wondering what an 825i built in 2004 with 130 hours on it is worth. My dealer has one on consignment for $12000.00. Told them it was to much for a 6-7 year old machine then what I was willing to pay. With just over 100 hours it probably hasn't had many services done to it. Does have extras on it. Light bars for the front and rear on top of the roof that it has with a plastic 2 piece windshield. Also has hydro dump for the bed and a winch on the front that looks like it's never been used.

Has the "pretty" wheels too. Tires look to be about 80 to 90 percent left on them. Back ones are bigger then the front and yes it's 4X4 in Gator green and yellow. I told them that the age is working against it. He told me for another 7000 I could buy a new one and I told him that to get that it would be a new one and I would get all the new things with it so I understand that. Peace of mind being the best thing about that. 7 years old I don't know what it's been through. I walked away with neither the old one or the new one. But I still have all my money in my bank. Well, the bank is my money since that is where I go to get money when I don't have any. 🙂

I don't know anything about Gators and such other then that I've always wanted one and what I've read on GTT. I understand that they are good for pulling tractors and Z-turns out once in a while. That and that a person can get a Caddie or Lincoln model. With just a windshield and roof on the one I looked at I'd say its a pinto model. I'd be in good company if that was the case. 👍 Told them to call me if he'll take 8 grand. He didn't take my name so I'm not banking on any calls coming from them about that. How far off am I??

12k for them around here is what I’ve seen selling at. They are great machines and never had a problem with mine. I know it crazy here for what they are getting just for golfcarts.

My neighbor bought a 2014 or 15 825i from a friend mine for about $8,500 With 267 hours in excellent shape. His offer in trade for at Kabota dealer was 8000.

Had the same options you mentioned.

The real Pinto model would run you ~$8K - $10K -$12K new.

I'm guessing I'm not going to buy this one for 12 grand. No, guessing is over with. I'm not buying a gator for 12 grand when it's not worth that. Since my late wife and I moved down here I've found out one thing for sure. If the people here want to sell something they want a fortune but if you want to sell something they want it for free. I don't do business that way. From what the salesman said the owner bought a new Caddie or Lincoln model. Anyway, I'm not buying it for 12 grand. That ship has sailed.

Levi - with your hills you may be better served with a Kubota which has a hydro trans. The Gators and most others will free wheel going down hills - you need to ride the brakes the whole way.

The Kubota will hold back just like our tractors.

(y) Brake parts for these Gators aren't cheap by no means.

I agree Levi with CT,, but go try one first to see if you will like the fit with you on the seat.. I like mine but I wish I could adjust the front to back on the seat if any of them actually have that feature? You do not need breaks going downhill in low range.. and they can move pretty good in high.. I use mine almost daily.

If you can find a Honda 700 Pioneer, I hear they are pretty good... :sneaky::D:D:D 3 spd auto transmission. NO belts to wear out, and holds back going down hills.

That is the one thing that has to happen if I do get a side by side is the torque. It has to hold in gear, on it's own, down hill, without any brakes being applied. There is no way I would get anything else without that feature. Gone on to many free wheel rides on my tractors to have a gator type vehicle that does it automatically. No thank you. It was the one thing I told a Can Am salesman, can it hold itself on a down hill position without brakes while in gear. Can Am's do but not all the others he had did. And then he showed me. That is the one thing it has to do. But I'm in the looking stage, not a buying stage. Thanks for all the replies.

I for one didn't forget your hill incident Levi! I can see why you're concerned. I would be too..
I recently bought a zero turn and found out how quickly one can lose control going downhill!!! Up hill in that area from now on!!! I think I even yelled NO CONTROL HANG ON !!!! only 28 degrees but....... funny how you talk to yourself in those predicaments!

You stated 2004, then later stated 7 years old.
Is it a 2004 and 17 years old? If a 2004, I'd pass
Or 2014 and 7 years old? If a 2014, the age would not bother me, unless I wanted features of the newer model, like the 835M (no levers between the seats)
A friend has 2012 825i, with box lift, roof, plastic 2pc windshield, and every guard/bumper (front, rear, front fenders, box sides) JD offered, plus the aluminum wheels. He paid over $18K in 2012.
I don't see you getting it for $8K or even $10K.
I if I wanted it, I would want to know when, and what, service has been preformed on it.
I'd ask for all fluids and filters changed and new battery, for $12K OTD and see what happens.

You're probably right. In my mind I'm thinking he said 2004 but he probably said 2014. He was reading the ID plate on the side when he said it and I'm thinking what the age is so... Yah I'll go with 2014. So that is where I'm at. ???? marks in my head now. I'm to stubborn to pay more then 8 grand at this point. If I would even like it once I was to test drive it. I'll see if it's still there come next Wednesday when I go to pick up my light for the left side of the ROPS. ROPS are in but not the hardware, nuts, bolts, washers and the like. They say if you replace the ROPS you have to replace the hardware too. Probably be a winter job.

Don’t forget to take it down a steep hill.
In order to find out what I need to know about it I'd have to. That's the whole point.

Don't think our gators will hold on hills, I know my Polaris will. You need to know how the CVT works, if you keep the primary clutch engaged it will hold you, normally above 1300rpms, a lot of people call this the Texas 2 step, combination of brake and throttle to stay above the engagement. Polaris has what's called active decent control(ADC) which does this for you but a lot of people don't like it and would be the same with a hydro or trans on other makes, it holds it back to a point, especially on steep grades that the back tires loose traction, something just as bad as freewheeling.

Yes. I think it's time to get it back to the way I bought it before I laid it down some years ago and with other things that went on since.
