I have owned my gator for 2.5 yeara but only have 250 hours on it. There are a number of service items for significant hours - or two years (ie coolant, transaxle fluid etc). Given my very low hourly use (and garaged status) should i follow the manual rigidly or use some common sense in delaying these?

I believe all fluids have a useful life, therefore I follow the recommended service intervals.

you can always send a sample of the fluid out to a lab and have it tested...it's what i do for very low use vehicles .. and switch to synthetics when practical
I would do that with my wife’s car - a VW turbo diesel that gets around 500 miles a year - but the cost of an oil annylisis is the same as changing the oil and filter.

I would go by hours or calander time, which ever comes first.
If used year round, I would pick right before heaviest use period. Spring???
If used only part year (like my mower) I would do at the end of the season, fall, so it sits all winter with fresh fluids.
