I received the tractor and implements from the previous property owner when we bought our 6 acres almost 2 years ago.
I haven't checked either filter since I've had it.
I started it today and it ran great like its old self with both mower decks until just before I was wrapping up with the finish deck, then it started bogging hard while mowing up slopes.
The other day when it was having issues it was in the 90's. Today was low 80's. I wonder if part of the issue could be heat related.
Definitely going to check the filters! Thanks again!

Also something to think about - this tractor only has a 24hp engine. Climbing a grade with any kind of speed will bog down the engine easily unless you slow down.

I have some steep slopes on my property and my tractor is also about 25hp. The hydro trans takes a lot of that power. You just have to ease up on the go pedal when climbing hills.

I just pulled the air filters for the first time since acquiring the tractor. It had a wad of cottonwood fluff matted around about half the filter... and the previous owner had written the date and hour meter numbers on the filter.
11/17/06 and almost 800 hrs ago. I just ordered a full set of filters. I've been a bad tractor dad.

Ran like a champ with the new air filters! Then after about 1.5 hrs it started bogging heavily when mowing and turning again.

The new fuel filter arrived today. After I figure where they hid the filter on this thing I'll swap it too.

It was also 88 degrees while I was mowing, so maybe the old JD is getting hot?
I'm not getting any indication on the dash... but still.

Follow the forward pedal linkage to the RR where it connects to lever........Is that 12mm bolt loose or sloppy?

You can check with engine off standing on right side. Push pedals F/R with right hand or foot and look at linkage.
